How hard would it be to stop a 20 tonne pumpkin rolling down a hill? How big a push would you need to start it rolling in the first place? And most importantly, how many pies would it make? The activities in this workshop will help you and your students answer these pressing questions about force and motion. In this action-packed, playful workshop you will enter into the "spinny" world of tops. Starting from a simple design, teachers will build tops of various configurations using a variety of materials. A New Spin on Motion covers a number of the learning outcomes in Grades 1, 3 and 5 Physical Science. |
